OUAT nail art challenge: Inspired by your favorite episode

Time for final challenge. I can't believe how fast Once Upon A Time nail art challenge has gone by, it was very fun expiriance and I'm really glad I joined. The last challenge is inspired by your favorite episode. This was really hard to choose because there were so many great episodes but in the end I pick episode The Stranger ( s01e20 ) as my favorite. I already told you that August  was one of my favorite characters and this was the episode where we find out his story and connection with other characters.

In this episode one of major character is Blue Fairy and since she wasn't part of any nail art so far I decided to draw few blue roses inspired by her dress. Other important characters were Pinocchio and baby Emma    and I did two nails inspired by two of them. First is my middle finger where I draw Emma's blanket and my pinkie where I draw Pinocchio's bow. On all my nails I used the same base color Golden Rose number 330 and everything I did was with different sizes nail dotting tool.

I used: Golden Rose 330, Basic Beauty 66, Essence Don't Feed The Tiger ( golden ), Essence Andy You're A Star, Avon Jungle Green, Essence Ahoy, Catrice Lucky In Lilac and Essence Glitter Nail Hardener

Red carpet: 2013 Academy Awards

Last night I went to sleep but I left my TV on and even though I didn't planed I watched Oscars red carpet and the show a little bit. I like to know who are the winners of awards shows but my favorite part is to see what is everyone wearing. It is always to better to see it on TV because everything look much better. Last night there was several beautiful gowns but it seams that most of the stars played it safe and didn't take much risk. Beside the beauties there was few really bad choices...but let' look at all of it together.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

Charlize Theron in Dior

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab

Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani Prive

Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli

Jennifer Aniston in Valentino

Adele in Jenny Packham

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

Anne Hathaway in Prada

Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta

Amanda Sayfired in Alexander McQueen

Jessica Chastain in Giorgio Armani

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra

Halle Berry in Versace

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott

Zoe Saldana

Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton

I the end my favorites are Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Hudson, Sandra Bullock, Naomi Watts and Charlize Theron, the worst is Kristen Stewart but Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry right behind. What do you think?

OUAT nail art challenge: The princess

I'm late with Day 8 challenge because my computer was broken for a while but I have the chance to do it now!  Unfortunately pictures are smaller then usual but I hope you don't mind. For Day 8 the challenge was The princess, I choose Snow White. I used bunch of nail polishes for this manicure but I actually did really simple mani. For base color I used Avon Pale Gold and with Sally Hansen Strobe Light and Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter I did diagonal french. On my ring finger I draw Snow White's apple and on the rest I simply draw flowers with few dots. On my point finger I applied golden crackle nail polish and stamped a heart which should represent true love's kiss.
Even if it doesn't look like that I used a lot nail polishes: Pale Gold, p2 Golden Rush, Sally Hansen Strobe Light, Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter, Essence Ahoy, p2 Open Your Heart and Essence Berlin Story

My nail polish stash: purple

Avon Color Trend Heavenly - One of the nail polishes that I have the longest. The color is nice and soft, purple base with loads of purple and silver shimmer.
No name nail polish - I have this one for a very long time too. This is another light purple but this one has duochrome effect, it goes from purple to blue.
Avon Magical Mauve - light, shiny purple. I can't remember the last time I wore it...
Essence Bloom-A-Loom from Blossoms Etc. TE. One of my favorite nail polishes. Pastel purple with multi coloured shimmer.
S-he number 375 - I love this color, it is a pastel purple with loads of pink shimmer. Unfortunately it is very sheer so I don't wear it very much.

Essence Meet Me Now! - Very beautiful nail polish, I used it a lot lately. The color is creamy violet, I like to wear it alone but it is also great for nail art.
MUA Love U 24/7 - This is one of the products that I got as a gift with my MUA order. At first I thought that this is great because I don't have a color like this. If you look at the picture above you can see that that isn't true. I quickly remembered that I have almost 100% dupe in Catrice Lucky In Lilac
Catrice Lucky In Lilac - So, this is almost exactly the same thing like MUA Love U 24/7. Both are cream classic purples.
p2 Poetic - This one is little bit darker then previous two. They look really close when you look at the bottles but on the nails, Poetic is darker and colder color.
Essence Oh My Glitter! - This is one of my favorites purples. The color is definitely in the same category like MUA, Catrice and p2 but what makes it special is the pink and blue glitter.

Bourjois number 17 - this is one of those colors that is hard to put it the color category. To me it is closest to purple. Very pretty color, perfect for fall and winter!
Manhattan 65K - This colors is something in between of purple and magenta. Either way very pretty, great for cold days.
Julep Helena - this would be my favorite from all the polishes I'm showing you today. This purplicious magenta is really stunning and eye catching. Love it! Unfortunately this beauty is very difficult to photograph, to see the real color click.
Rimmel Purple Pulse - This is one of the polishes I got in a swap. Very pretty color, a bit sheer but looks great with three coats.
Essence Little Miss Bright - from Season Of Extremes TE. This color is really close to Rimmel Purple Pulse but only tiny bit darker, when you look at the bottles they look exactly the same. This one is also little bit sheer so you need three coats to get full opacity.
Essence Dress To Party - This is one of few Essence Multi Dimension polishes that I still have. This color is very similar to the previous two but a little bit darker and this one is shimmery. Nice color but I never really liked it that much...

Rimmel Pompous - This nail polish is very popular, most girls like it but I'm not too crazy about it. I bought it long time ago because it looks gorgeous in the bottle but on the nails it is little bit different and I don't like it. It is that purple blue color...I can't remember last time I had it on my nails but now that I look at the bottle it looks so pretty and I think I will give it another try!
Essence Lil@c - from @holografics.com - this nail polish isn't actually holo it is duochrome, goes from purple to blue and grey. Very interesting color!
Manhattan 610W - Dark purple with loads of silver shimmer. Pretty!
Deborah Milano no. 839 - In the bottle it looks amazing, dark purple with loads of purple flakies...on the nails it isn't pretty at all. It's not shinny at all and it feels like you have something different on your nails.
Essence Alice Had A Vision - Again -from Breaking Down part 2 collection. Alice is a purple beauty with lots and lots of purple, blue and green flakies.

Essence Thelma - This is the darkest purple I own, very nice cream.
Essence True Love - from Vampire's Love TE. Another one that looks gorgeous in the bottle but a bit boring on the nails. Still it is beautiful color.
Color Club Glitter Wonderland - I bought this one recently and I'm in love with this color. Purple base with purple, pink, blue...glitter. Hopefully I will post my swatch of this and next color soon.
Color Club Gift Of Sparkle - I love this one as much as I love Glitter Wonderland. Beautiful purple with loads of holografic glitter. Perfect holiday and winter nail polish.

Misslyn Dragonfly - this nail polish is actually a top coat. It came out in Limited Edition Peacock and you are supposed to apply it over black. I tried that and hated it, I didn't tried it after that. It has duochrome effect.
Essence Love, Peace And Purple - from You Rock! TE - Dark, muddy purple with loads of purple shimmer. This polish was also very popular because this seams to be a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal.
Catrice Purplelized - Metallic shimmery purple. Very nice!
Catrice Dirty Berry - This one is also one of my favorite purple nail polishes. It is very interesting...the color is dusty purple with holografic shimmer. It looks gorgeous in the sun!

This would finally be it. What is your favorite purple nail polish?

OUAT nail art challenge: Mirror, mirror on the wall

I had no idea how to do today's challenge, the challenge is Mirror, mirror on the wall and it is for day 7. In the end I decided to draw a mirror in one nail and on the rest I thought I could draw piece of shattered glass. In the end I realized that the best way to do that is to use foil instead. On my ring finger I draw a mirror or at least I tried to, I hope you can see what I imagined. First I applied silver as base color, then I draw a circle with nail striper. After that I colored inside of the mirror with Midnight date ( both polishes ) and then I used nail dotting tool to make the frame of the mirror.

Here are small pieces of kitchen foil, I cut each piece few more times and applied on my nails with top coat ( first I applied one coat of top coat and then I applied small pieces of foil with the brush ).

Here are nail polishes I used : everything is Essence; Rich And Pretty, Jacob's protection, Midnight Date and  Berlin Story

Only 2 challenges left:

Empty #5

Balea Glanz Tonic - I believe that this product is discontinued because I can't find it any more. When I first realized that it is discontinued I bought few backup bottles because I really love this product. Now this is the last one I have and it is gone, I hope that Balea will come up something similar in the future. This was a great product, it gave my hair really nice glow and I used it a lot. It is a shame they discontinued it.

Dove Natural Touch deo-spray  - I usually use Dove Orginal because it is the only deo-spray I like. Last time I decided to try Natural Touch and it was pretty good so I might repurchase this again.

Essence 24 hand protection balm Gingerbread Chai Latte and Caramel Hot Chocolate - In the winter I use hand balms / creams like crazy so I have two empty tubes. I love those Essence limited edition, I still have the third scent form this year's collection but not for long.

Balea face wipes - I don't know how many of these I finished, Balea is definitely my favorite for removing makeup. Great quality and price!

Essence 24/7 nail base - My favorite nail base, I already have a new bottle!

Rosal oil based nail polish remover - I tried Rosal nail polish remover for the first time and I really like it. It has only 85 ml in the bottle but it lasted for a long time, probably because it has tiny hole so you can easily take right amount of remover and you don't waste product unnecessarily.

OUAT nail art challenge: Magic comes with a price

We are already at Day 6 Once Upon A Time nail art challenge. Today's task is Magic comes with a price. I decided to go with purple gradient manicure since we know that when anybody is doing magic in Once Upon A Time we see purple smoke. For my purple smoke I used three different purple nail polishes, white base and of course makeup sponge. I love gradient manicure, it is easy to do and it looks very nice...the down side of it is the clean up. No matter what it is impossible to avoid it. However, I'm definitely do more gradient manis in future.

Here is one of my inspiration photos:

I used: Essence Ahoy, Essence Bloom-A-Loom, Essence Oh My Glitter!, Essence Meet Me Now

Only 3 challenges to go...

Preview: Essence TE Sun Kissed

Essence is already in summer mood and they are giving us new Trend Edition called Sun Kissed. The collection will be available from March and April 2013. TE contains self tanning wipes, shimmer powder,  cheek tints, soft touch eyeshadows, shimmer spray, lipsticks, nail polishes and waterproof eye pencils.
For now nothing caught my eye, those cheek tints look nice but the color seams to be too dark. Like always we will wait and see...Do you see something you like?
