The Hunger Games

Recently I got a early Easter gift - two books from The Hunger Games trilogy: The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I read both of them in just few days and I can't wait to read the last one. I really love first two books, I've heard many great things about them and now I can say that all the compliments are justified. I love the story and I love the characters, the books are very interesting and I enjoyed reading it.  At the very beginning I was wondering how will everything go down because I was 100% spoiler free but it didn't take long to get completely into it. After I was done with The Hunger Games I waited few days and then started  reading Catching Fire. But when I had it in my hands I couldn't put the book down. I must admit that when I finished the first book I was little bit skeptical  if the second book is necessary  because I have a feeling that everything has to have sequels these days. So I had no idea what will second book be about and how will the story go on, after only few pages of Catching Fire I could easily see how wrong I was. I think that maybe I like Catching Fire even more then The Hunger Games. Mostly because the plot was very interesting, unpredictable and you never knew who is the person to trust. Also I liked new characters.
Now I can't wait to read Mockingjay, hopefully they will translate it to Croatian very soon. I could probably find English version somewhere online but I'm not into e-books at all. I would rather wait for real thing, I just hope that I won't have to wait for long.

Right after I finished reading The Hunger Games I went to see the movie. All I can say after seeing the movie is that I'm really disappointed. I know, I know... the book is always better but I didn't even had high expectation and still... Everything was so much better in my mind. They changed so many things and left out many great parts from the book. The good thing about the movie were actors and I liked how they shown the Districts and Capitol...everything else not so much. If you have seen the movie tell me what you think about it? I really want to know how you feel about it :)
Did you read the books, if you did tell my your opinion and i f you thinking about reading the books go for it!

  1. znači, to definitivno vrijedi čitati? meni djeluju dosadno, tinejdžerski i isforsirano. varam li se?

  2. I totally agree with you. I borrowed all 3 books from a friend and I2m close to finishing the second one. I saw the movie yesterday and I felt really good that I read the book first. So many thoughts and feelings were left out. :( The book is always the better one... However, I liked the Capitol people, their clothes and colors, especially Cinna's golden eyeliner... :) One more thing, I thought better of Peeta while reading, like he is a protective and caring lover. I imagined him to be more handsome. But after seeing the movie, all I can think is Gale... :) LOL

    1. I agree with you too! You are right about Peeta :) they should find somebody else to play him. Gale on the other hand is great in books and in the movie.
