Born Pretty Store water decals

Few days ago I tried water decals for the first time. I have moustache design from Born Pretty Store that looks really cute and it seems to be everywhere lately, on t shirts, scarfs, jewelry and of course so many girls draw them on nails. I decided to go with easier version and just stick them on my nails. Water decals are really easy to use. All you have to do is cut the design with scissors and dip it in the water for few seconds. I did it with room temperature water and it worked very well. Then you simply apply it on your nails. You can use fingers but I think tweezers would be the better choice because it is easier to place the image where you want it with them. Once you place the image it will stay that way, you can't move it any more. 

Water decal D305 has 36 different size images. Smaller images are great for short nails, while bigger images will suit girls with longer nails. This is how the design look on my nails. The base is Catrice Mint Me Up. My end result is pretty simple but cute and what is the best simple nail art like this is done in a minute.

Born Pretty Store glitter nail polish

After trying few Born Pretty Store nail art products it is time to try a nail polish. I'm obsessed with glitter so Cosmiss glitter nail polish seem to be good choice for me.  After looking at beautiful glitter combinations I chose number 17 because I don't have anything like it. It is a milky yellow base with pink, yellow and gold hex glitter plus some golden micro glitter. To get the good coverage I applied 2 coats. There was still visible nail line a little bit but it didn't bather me because glitters covers it up. Overall I really like this nail polish, mostly because base color and glitter combo. Down side of Cosmiss nail polish is that it is not quick drying and it has a bad smell. Drying time is not  problem to me but I have to say that I prefer this nail polish few hours after I apply it when the smell goes away. Cosmiss nail polish contains 10 ml and it applies easily.

New in - June 2013

I have a lot new products this month. Main reason is my trip to Germany.When I went to Germany I had few products on my wishlist but nothing too crazy. I was in control most of the time but in the end I had a lot new  beauty products! You know that feeling when you are not sure are you supposed to be excited or ashamed...haha. Anyway, here is what I got!

First thing I have here is Nyx Beauty To Go - The Ultimate Beauty Box. I'm excited about this one for sure, there is so much makeup in there. I will probably post swatches in next week or so.

I also went to Lush store and bought few things. Here I have bath bombs Sex Bomb and The Comforter and massage bar Soft Coeur. I will tell you more about these in separate post.

I have two I Love...products. I wanted to try it and there was great 2 for 1 deal so I picked up body lotion I Love...Raspberry & Blackberry and shower gel I Love Mango & Papaya. Here is also new Balea Young body lotion. 

Now the nail polishes. I always buy too much nail polish, this time was no different. On picture above I have H&M polishes which I picked up for the first time...

I'm so in love with p2 Sheer Glam Fame that I wanted to try another color. I picked up French Kiss, very nice dark red. On your lips looks something like tinted lip balm.

Last two products are my usual Loreal Color Glanz shampoo and Avon AT Shine Serum. When I test Shine Serum little bit more I will post my review.

Born Pretty Store review: Stud Rhinestone nail art box

Today I have another Born Pretty Store review for you. I did a simple nail art with stud rhinestones that I received from BPS for a review. From 12 different rhinestones I decided to go with square. First I applied Color Club Glitter Wonderland as a base color and after that was dry it was time for rhinestones. 

Rhinestones application was very easy and quick. I don't use rhinestones often mostly because most of them are too thick and they fell off very quickly. As you can see on the picture bellow these are pretty good. They are not thick and they fit to the nail very well.

Born Pretty Store review: nail art foils

Today I tried foil manicure for the first time ever. I always avoided it because I thought it is too complicated and because I was sure that design from the foil won't transfer the way I want. I received two nail art foil from Born Pretty Store, the green one and orange - red - purple ombre which is my favorite from the two. Foils come in plastic pot, the size  is 113 cm ( lenght ) and 2.5 cm ( width ). 

To do the foil manicure you need few things: nail polish similar to the foil, wooden stick and foil glue. I have my foil glue from Essence Nails In Style TE ( which I never used before! ), if you don't have a foil glue you can use a nail polish ( apply  first coat, wait for it to dry, apply another coat, wait for it to dry but not completely ). Before you start working first you need to cut foil to 10 small pieces and apply nail polish similar as color of the foil because it is always possible that some part of the foil will not transfer very well, but with similar base color in will not be visible. After nail polish is completely dry it is time to apply foil glue and foil. It is the best to do one nail at the time. When you apply the foil you can use your finger or better wood stick to press foil into the nail to make sure foil transfers evenly. After that it is time to gently remove the foil and after all nails are done apply top coat.

I was surprised how quickly I finished and also my fear that foil will not transfer was for nothing. Transfer was easy and it was almost 100 % , there was few tiny spots where it didn't transfer but because of base color it wasn't visible. I'm still not sure how long will this mani last on my nails but I believe it will be same as usual, nothing more or less. 

I'm glad that I finally tried foil technique and I'm looking forward to new foil manicures. It is easy and the end result is great. My nails look so shiny and the ombre design is really interesting. Feather manicure ( Born Pretty Store review )

Feather manicures always capture my attention so when I saw cute pink and black polka dot feathers on Born Pretty Store I knew it is time to finally try it. So I received a little feathers package , watched few YouTube tutorials just to get the idea how everything works and then I tried it myself. 

I used Golden Rose 348 as base color. I placed feathers on three fingers on each hand and I left two nails only with base color. The procedure is simple. You apply base color and while it is still wet you place the feather. The best way is to place the pointy part on the top because it gives the best result. You can use your finger or tweezers to dab the feather on to the nail. Then use a top coat to seal it. Wait for it to dry and use clippers to cut the excess of feathers. In the end apply another coat of top coat. 

Feathers manicure is really cute and eye catching. It is easy to do it but this one will take little bit more time that the usual nail art but it is definitely worth it!

Born pretty Store review: 12 colors nail art glitter powder

Few days ago I posted a review of one Born Pretty Store product I received and today I will show you the second product I got. It is a 12 colors nail art glitter powder acrylic UV gel. If you follow my blog you could already see that I'm huge glitter fan and you can see that it is not a surprise that I chose this product. So, there is 12 pots filed with glitter. I like that there is good variety of colors and I'm sure it will be fun to do some nail art with these. The colors are: purple ( light and dark ), silver, yellow, green, orange, red, blue, gold, pink, white and black.

Today I tried the glitter on my nails for the first time. First I applied Essence Party Princess and then I sponged Essence Ahoy, Essence Stamp Me! Silver, Catrice Raspberry Fields Forever and I added a top coat. After everything dried I applied clear top coat again but this time only in the middle over white and silver and I applied white glitter. It was easy to work with it and I'm happy with the end result. When I applied the glitter I took a piece of paper to work over it because that way is easier to put excess glitter back into the pot.

When I received the glitter I remembered I have few Miss Selene  nail polishes with clear base and heart / star glitter. I don't use them because it is almost impossible to apply glitter on my nails because the amount of glitter inside is too small...

I added red and light and darker purple glitter inside and it looks much  better. Now I have to to the same thing with few other Miss Selene polishes that I have. Next time I will use powder and some different size glitter and I will finally start using these polishes. When I do that I will definitely post some pictures :D Here is how the above nail polish looks now:

Born Pretty Store review: Nail art striping tape

After my last Born Pretty Store review they asked me to review two more products of my choice. First product I chose and the one I will show you today is Color line nail art striping tape design lines. I received one striping tape in color pink. ( On picture bellow you can see other colors they have. ) When striping tapes became popular I wasn't very interested in them but after seeing sooo many beautiful manicures with striping tapes I decided to give it a try!

When striping tape arrived I was in the middle of Once Upon A Time nail art challenge and I decided that the perfect time for the tape was when I had gradient manicure. So after I had gradient manicure for one day I decided to use a striping tape and black nail polish. Good thing was that since I already worn my mani for a day I could be completely sure that my mani is dry which is required for any kind of tape manicures. There are two ways to use striping tape, one is that you place the tape on your nails, cut the excess and leave it that way. The other way, which is much more interesting to me is what I did. All you have to do is paint your nails any way you want, wait for polish to dry completely, place a tape ( don't forget to cut the pieces first )  go over it with another nail polish, in my case black and while the polish is still wet remove the tape. It is the best to do one nail at the time because you have to make sure that you remove the top tape first.

I love how this technique looks combined with gradient manicure. I did every nail differently and I placed 2-3 tapes on each nail.

I'm sure I will use the tape again because I like how easy but effective my manicure was. I will probably do it again this way and what is also great is that I can have a mani for a day or two and then when I get tired of it or it starts to chip I can do a makeover with the tape!

Review: KandNail CK-05 image plate

Daisy from Born Pretty Store contacted me recently to ask me of I want to review their product. I said yes and my first ever free product arrived last week. I could choose something from their web site and there are all kinds of girly products but is not a surprise that I chosen nail product. I chosen KandNail CK-05 image plate with 42 different designs and here are my impressions.

On first three pictures you can see how the plate and designs look like. To enlarge it you can just click on the picture. Like I said there are 42 different designs, great thing about that is that everyone can find something  and that this plate is something you can combine in many ways. Images on the plate may look like "all over images" but they are not, this plate is actually French Nail Art image plate and images are too small to cover all over your nail. Maybe if you have short nails you can get away with it but even this way it can be used in so many ways and you can get really creative with it.

On the picture bellow you can see how the images look when they are stamped. As you can see some of them turn out perfectly, some of them are barely visible but most of them turn out pretty good. When I was stamping on the paper I used Essence scraper and stamper and I wasn't very happy with the results ( look at the first row ) then I decided to use simple card ( pocket calendar actually ) instead of scraper and I got much better results ( look at the rest ). I guess scraper isn't the best solution for this image plate because it removes to much polish from the image and also it damages the plate. Simple old card is much better and easier way. 

Finally let's look how it looks on the nails. I was in the pink mood and I decided to go with floral design. It transmitted without any problem, image turn out great and I was done in few minutes. I was surprised how quickly I did this manicure because I still remember when I first started stamping on my nails it took me so long and I would always make a big mess...That is the reason I don't use image plates like before but maybe I could start using them more. For this mani I used Avon Pale Pink as base color, I stamped the image with Catrice Hot Or Not? and in the end I applied Catrice Sweets For My Sweets with sponge on my tips.

In the end I like the plate mostly because there is so many designs and because I can combine the designs in so many different ways. Hopefully I won't be too lazy to use it.
